How do I join the Toledo Power Squadron?

If you have found this page, you must have decided to join our organization. I have to compliment you on making a great decision! You are joining a fantastic organization with some tremendous people. You are likely to make some friendships in our organization that will last a lifetime! If you require more information then what is provided here, please click here

Pre-requisites to Join

Our main pre-requisite to joining is education. Not only are we a social organization and know how to have a good time, we are also very education centric. We pride ourselves on the knowledge and experience that is contained within our ranks. Prospective members must have at least basic knowledge about boating. If you do not presently have this knowledge, we are happy to pass it on to you!

We encourage everyone to take The Squadron Boating Course (Dates and Times). This eight week course covers the basic knowledge mariners need to operate a boat safely. If you have not taken this course, but feel that you posess a sufficient level of knowledge to join, you may take the test that we administer at the end of the Squadron Boating Course and test out of the class.

There are other courses that are taught by additional organizations that also meet our education pre-requisite. These include the following:

·      Holders of U. S. Coast Guard 6 Pak Licenses and above.

·      Canadian Power Squadron - Boating Course

·      USCGAux - Boating Skills & Seamanship or Sailing & Seamanship Courses

·      American Sailing Assn. - (ASA) Basic Keelboat Sailing Course

·      US Sailing - Basic Keelboat Certification Course

·      US Sailing - Keelboat Instructor Course

·      US Sailing - Small Boat Instructor Course
